Chihuly

I love glass. I love stained glass, blown glass, glass beads, dishes, glassware, vases, crystal, and ornaments. Love it. Always have. I particularly am drawn to bright mixes of colors. I have too much glass.

And this is why I ADORE this artist. Saw an exhibition of his work at the AKAG some years ago and have never forgotten it. I'd love to visit his studio in Seattle sometime.

The Gates

David's been to see it (jealous) and he said it was cool (or some other very high-level word that frequents his vocabulary). I suppose I could have gone, but I wouldn't have been there the same time as him, so I didn't go. I do have that JetBlue credit that has to be used by April. But it's too late to see The Gates.

blog holiday

On blog/email/Internet holiday. Just couldn't take anymore. For the moment. I am sure I'll be back. Peace.

The little note at the bottom of this photo made me cry. It made Kim cry, and some other people I saw reading it, were also crying. You can't see what it says clearly, because even as I took this photo, somehow I didn't want to get to close to it, to pry too hard. The note is to one of the men killed in Vietnam, in which the woman writing it says "thank you for saving my dad's life"...There was more. But I was crying and needed to walk away, before I could read it all.
