Natural Influence

I tend to have influences of the natural world in much of my poetry. I am sure that growing up in a rural area, with huge woods and fields to play in (the cornfields behind our house were an excellent place to play hide and seek), is a major reason for this. This is the imagery that I find soothing, spiritual, and full of love. Some of my best times were spent alone, in the woods or fields. I remember one time in particular, I was out in the woods behind our house, where the little streams froze in the winter. I brought out my skates and skated all through the woods by myself, singing. It was like singing in a cathedral all alone.

Some of the poems below are examples of how nature has infused itself into my poems (notice I word that as though I had no choice in the matter).
